Collaboration Stories
Gritter Real Estate Services frequently collaborates with other real estate professionals to expand our service offerings for clients with large or complex projects. We are grateful to our collaborators who enhance project outcomes and client experience through their expertise.
As a boutique commercial real estate firm, Gritter Real Estate Services frequently collaborates with other real estate professionals on large projects. Luke Bonner, CEO of Bonner Advisory Group, is one of our most frequent and successful collaborators. Tom and Luke were both student-athletes at the University of Michigan and got to know each other as board members of U of M's Letterwinners M Club. Now, working out of the same office building across from the Big House, they collaborate to bring their specialized expertise to complex real estate projects.
Bonner Advisory Group specializes in developing public-private partnerships to execute projects that require a flexible or novel approach to fit within existing bureaucratic structures. With over 15 years in government and nonprofit sectors and over a decade with Bonner Advisory Group, Luke is adept at aligning stakeholder goals and navigating community relationships to see projects to fruition.
Gritter Real Estate Services and Bonner Advisory Group have been collaborating since 2019, when Gritter Real Estate Services was founded. While both Tom and Luke manage projects independently, partnering on projects together allow them to pool their unique skills to tackle larger projects with many moving parts that would be difficult to manage alone. On the projects, Luke facilitates community relationship building and big-picture business development while Tom focuses on implementation and execution. Having successfully completed several projects, they have created a solid platform, sharing responsibilities, and bringing their unique expertise to each client they serve.
Their complementary skill sets have allowed them to complete projects, such as their work in tax increment financing (TIF) and project management for Northland Shopping Center in Southfield, MI. Although their work on this project has concluded, construction is ongoing. For this project, Tom worked on the TIF and financial feasibility, while Luke focused on packaging the information and materials to move forward with the Brownfield Plan. Later, Tom handled invoice tracking for the client to submit to the City, while Luke continued to build the relationship with the City.
Together, they have completed multiple local Michigan projects, including entitling senior-oriented projects in Superior Township, Van Buren Township and Fenton Township, economic development studies for the City of Westland and Grosse Ile, and various feasibility studies and analyses. Luke and Tom compete effectively with large and international firms for work and have won projects from large publicly traded companies. As nimble firms with expertise in executing projects and managing public-private relationships, their collaborations offer clients with unique, large, and challenging projects access to trusted guidance and support.
Tom and Luke are currently working on several projects, including Arbor South in Ann Arbor, an office-to-residential conversion project in Farmington Hills, and multiple brokerage assignments in Ann Arbor and Southeast Michigan. Gritter Real Estate Services is grateful for the great partner they have in Bonner Advisory Group, which has allowed us to elevate our service offerings and project execution to the next level for our clients.
